Lakeland captures AA title

Lakeland remembered the feeling of disappointment after losing last season's
District 2 Class AA championship game to Dunmore.
It burned in the pits of the players' stomachs for 12 months.
The Chiefs extinguished that flame with a 25-6 win over Hanover Area Friday
night to claim the District 2 Class AA championship at a snowy Lackawanna County Stadium.

Upset revitalizes Scranton Prep

Scranton Prep entered the 2000 season with a great deal of optimism. The
Cavaliers had been the best of the rest during Eastern Conference Class AA championship
seasons in 1996 and 1997. However, while playing in the highly competitive Big 11, the
